The result makes us the favourite, Pavel Vrba knows

Viktoria Plzeň entered the 2nd qualifying round to the Europa League with a win against FC Metalurgi Rustavi from Georgia. „I think we met the oponent who made me very surprised. They played very offensive football. It wasn´t easy at all. On the other hand, we made the result which shows us to be the favouriet for the return match. I hope to fulfil it,“ Pavel Vrba wishes.

The head coach rejects that the fight is over. „I have to admit we´ve only got the first half-time finished. It can be completely different. We´ve even experienced such Matjes, like in Trondheim - we won the first match 1:0 but in the first half-time of the return match we couldn´t get into the game. However, the result now seem very positve for us.“ he says.

There were some changes in the Viktoria team because of the summer transfers. Martin Fillo and Edgar Malakyan for Václav Pilař and Milan Petržela who went to Bundesliga. „I´ll highly evaluate Martin Fillo. He was better and played very good match. Edgar Malakyan has some language problems but he also showed his potential. I believe the more time we spend togehter and the more Czech he will be able to speak, the better our cooperation will be. Martin Zeman also showed his qualities and I also think that David Štípek can play at this position, too,“ Vrba evaulates his players.

The Viktoria headcoach praised also the opponent´s players: „I already said yeasterday that Tatanashvili is a scorer, if he gets a chance he´s not going to spoil it. He played very well but we also helped him.“
