He began to play football in Dolní Kralovice but since the age of 7 he played for Slavia Praha. As a junior he did not have many chances to play that is why he decided to change the team. Dukla Praha became his new home in 2009. He quickly moved from B team to A team and helped them to get to the 1st League. He first appeared in the Gambrinus League on 29th July 2011 against Sigma Olomouc. He scored his first goal against his future employer – Viktoria Plzeň. In January 2012 he transferred to Viktoria, which let him in Dukla on loan for the spring. He joined the team in July. In season 2012/13 Marek made it to get to the lineup of the red-and-blues. In the rematch of the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa League against Ruch Chorzow he scored his first goal and soon after that he added one more against Dukla Praha in the Gambrinus League. Unfortunately, this young and talented footballer was slowed down by his injury. In the national team U21 match he ruptured his knee ligament cruciatum and had to absent the rest of the season.
