FC Viktoria Plzeň played the rematch of the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League and tied with Quarabag 1:1. This result means they will go on in the further round. Viktoria were losing from the 28th minute and it needs to be said they were more than lucky in this match. Nevertheless, 4 minutes later Michael Krmenčík scored and secured the autumn in football Europe. Their opponent will be known on 5th August 2016.

The coach Roman Pivarník made only one change in the starting line-up of Viktoria. Baránek was substituted by Lukáš Hejda because of too many cards. Both teams waited for nothing and immediately after the kick-off they jumped in offence, however, most actions ended on the edge of the penalty area. The first bigger chance of Viktoria was on 21 minutes when Kovařík passed the ball to Kolář but Hořava did not catch the rebounded ball in time. On the other side Kozáčik was busy as well but Reynaldo´s attempt was stopped by the defensive line. On 28 minutes Matějů fell asleep and Maurema beat him and scored over Kozáčik – 1:0 for Quarabag.

The home team gained control over the pitch but luckily they could not create any dangerous chance. At the end of the 1st half Viktoria were under pressure when Quintana run across almost the whole pitch and found Muarama in the 6-yard box. He prolonged the ball to Richard Almeida but he missed the target. Quarabag were more satisfied after the 1st half and Roman Pivarník had to liven up his team.

None of the coaches made any line-up changes for the 2nd half and it meant the game style remained. Viktoria were heavy-footed in the offensive phase and they rather defended. On 52 minutes Almeida checked the goalkeeper Kozáčik if he was ready but he had no troubles with his attempt. The Czech team possessed the ball but were not able to make any goal chance. On 56 minutes Viktoria substituted for the first time, Kovařík was replaced by Kopic. With the end of the match approaching Quarabag defended more and more and relied on quick breaks. 2 minutes later Kolář was substituted by Krmenčík and Viktoria decided staked everything on the offensive but they had no other choice. On 69 minutes Quarabag substituted Muarema for Ismayilov and he immediately had an effort on goal but missed the target. On 78 minutesViktoria also had an offensive effort but Krmenčík had a lack of power in his shot. 10 minutes later Pivarník substituted Bakoš for Ďuriš. On 85 minutes everything changed – Viktoria once got in a chance and scored! Michael Krmenčík headed the ball close to the upright and the result was 1:1. Quarabag could regret all their big goal chances because Plzeň edged them out.
