The Europa League group stage draw chose three very unpleasant opponents and ranked them in the group G. The rivals are FCSB, Hapoel Beer-Sheva from Israel and FC Lugano from Switzerland.

FCSB

It is not necessary to introduce this team in details because Viktoria met them in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League. The club is broadly known as Steaua Bucharest and they won the Romanian title 26th times, the domestic cup 22nd times and in the last century they even reached the 1st place in the European Cup of the champions – today´s Champions League. This success is dated in the season 1985/86.

Hapoel Beer-Sheva

The club established in 1949 celebrated success mostly in the recent years. They won the Israeli league 4th times and the last one was in the last season. They also won once the Israeli Cup and the Supercup 3 times.

FC Lugano

The Swiss club was established in 1908 as FC Lugano. They had a financial crisis in 2003 and they went bankrupt. One year later they were founded again under the new name AC Lugano. On 2008 the club changed its name to FC Lugano again in order to link to the history of the origin club. In spring 2015 the team returned to the highest domestic league.
