He had great times playing in the Viktorian colours. He battled in the Champions League, won two league titles (2014/2015 and 2017/2018) and even fought his way to the national team. He played all the Czech matches at EURO 2012, under the lead of the current FCVP coach Michal Bílek. And now, Václav Pilař is coming back home, back to Pilsen.

“Vašek Pilař knows it very well in our club and he is returning to familiar areas and community. Subsequently we know what to expect from him. He is still a very fast type of player, which he proved, for example, in the autumn duels of the European Conference League. His style is very troublesome and demanding for the opponent’s defense. In addition, I feel a huge motivation in him to fight for the European cups again,” the general director of the club Adolf Šádek commented on the arrival of Václav Pilař.

“When Viktorka called me about a week ago, there was nothing to think about. I just feel at home in Pilsen and I love it here,” says “Pilka”.

“The negotiations were really simple and fast, I was certain about it from the beginning. I was very satisfied in Jablonec, they treated me well, especially from the human point of view. But as soon as Mr. Šádek called me, it was decided,” adds the player who chose the number 6 again to wear on his kit.

The greatest motivation for Václav Pilař is the opportunity to try the Champions League qualification again. “I´m always crazy about this. Anyone who knows me knows that I have great ambitions and I will have them until someone tells me to sit on my ass,” he laughs. “The most important thing for me is to play in a club that has it set exactly the same way as I do. And in Viktoria, this is becoming reality,” he said, adding that the Champions League is a huge challenge and motivation.

“Viktorka has always been very strong in the cups and I truly believe we will be able to do it again. The team has great strength, which was proved in the last season, and I´m glad to be here again. I had health problems in the past, but perhaps I have earned this opportunity for everything I´ve been through. I´m back on the team that I love and will never turn Viktoria down.”

Welcome home, Pilka!
