The Viktorians have done it! After a successful second and third preliminary round, they made it through the Champions League play-offs against Qarabag, beating them 2-1 in the rematch, and for the fourth time in their history they will play the group stage of the most prestigious club football competition in the world!

The Red and Blues entered the match with great activity and could have taken the lead after just two minutes. A deflected ball reached the feet of Lukas Kalvach, but he missed the ball in a good position. The home team continued to try to be more on the ball, but Qarabag players enjoyed their first serious chance. Jhon Mosquera deflected the standard only to Filip Ozobic, who hit a parry from a volley.

The visitors from Azerbaijan kicked the goal and were more active by the end of the first half. Kady got the follow-up from outside the box, but the attempt ended just over the crossbar. Coach Michal Bílek´s charges went into the dressing rooms with a one-goal deficit.

As the second half started, Kady got another opportunity shortly after the start, his attempt was deflected by Jindřich Staněk, Ibrahima Wadji then hit the finish high above.

The West Bohemians stirred up the sold-out Doosan Arena in the 58th minute. Magomedaliyev misjudged the situation, he boxed the ball only to Jan Kopic and he headed it into the empty net, 1:1! And with a quarter of an hour to go, it was even more cheerful. Mosquera returned an overhit centre from Holík to Kliment and he found the gap between the visiting goalkeeper´s legs!

With the game turning from 0:1 to 2:1, the match finally ended, meaning that FC Viktoria Plzen will play in the Champions League group stage for the fourth time in their history!
