Viktoria Plzeň celebrates its 114th birthday. On this occasion, 3 new commemorative plaques were unveiled today at the Gate of the Fighters Memorial Site. Let´s introduce them.

On 11 June 1911 Viktoria Plzeň was founded in the U Forejtů inn in Sirkova Street. Today the West Bohemian Club commemorates the 114th anniversary of its foundation and on this occasion it traditionally unveils new commemorative plaques at the Gate of the Fighters Memorial Site.

The Borca Gate Memorial Site was established to commemorate outstanding personalities and important events, but also as a place where Viktoria fans can reminisce and review the history of their club. The place is divided into three pillars. The first pillar belongs to long-time Viktoria fans. The second pillar contains the names of legendary players and coaches who worked in Pilsen. The third one highlights important events of the club and the whole area.

Let´s introduce the new commemorative plaques together

Most of them were in the second division, but he played in the top league for three and a half seasons. Today, he is an integral part of the club´s old guard, which he and Ivan Bican take proper and loving care of.

The fan who was first taken to the stadium by his grandfather in 1959 and eventually turned out to be the love of his life. In the sixties, he was one of those who started to come to football with coloured flags and did not miss even distant duels, for example in Košice. The fans subsequently chose him as their leader. His beloved club gave him great joy until his last days.
