The match against Turkish side Fenerbahçe began cautiously. In the first five minutes, the players were just feeling each other out with the ball. Ederson had to make his first save in the 6th minute, but he dealt with the shot. The visitors defended well against two corners for the home side in the 11th minute. Paluska started a beautiful move down the wing and passed to Memić, who left the ball for Valenta to shoot, but his attempt went over the goal. In the 24th minute, the referee gave the first yellow card of the match to visiting player Álvarez. The home team pressed their opponents and created promising chances, but many of them ended only in corner kicks. Adu had a huge opportunity in the 30th minute – he slipped beautifully past the defender, but the visiting goalkeeper blocked his shot. In the 40th minute, the visitors launched a counterattack after a cleared ball, and Jedlička made a great save – the score remained 0-0. At the end of the half, the home team had two shots on goal after a corner kick, but the excellent Ederson made another save. The first half ended in a 0-0 draw.
Viktoria started the second half actively again. Memić ran down the wing but was stopped by a foul, for which the referee gave a yellow card. The resulting set piece did not end in a goal. However, Plzeň continued to threaten. In the 56th minute, Durrosinmi intercepted a poor pass by the visitors and passed the ball to Adu, whose cross ended up in Ederson's arms. In the 59th minute, Paluska's beautiful shot was again saved by the attentive visiting goalkeeper. The visitors had a promising chance in the 61st minute, but Jedlička intervened again. Substitute Denis Višinský then tested Ederson, but he was ready again. The score remained unchanged. Plzeň created another huge opportunity in the 74th minute, when Durosinmi and Višinský both had shots on goal, but the fantastic Ederson deflected them for a corner. In the 77th minute, Ederson stretched in vain for a shot curled in by Adu, but the ball only hit the post. The rest of the second half saw chances at both ends, but the goalkeepers were excellent. This duel with the Turkish giants thus ended goalless.
