​On Wednesday 1st July Viktoria Plzeň welcomed the 2nd league opponent from Sokolov. The coach Pavel Vrba gave a chance to the goalkeeper Aleš Hruška for the first time who came to Plzeň from Příbram.

The game at the beginning of the match was equal on both sides. On 13 minutes Martin Zeman´s pass suprised the visitors´ goalkeeper who had to rebound the ball on the corner. The game moved up and down between the two penalty areas. Plzeň tried to get forward by a gradual combination and Sokolov relied mostly on their fast strikers. The half-time result was goalless.

Viktoria sharply jumped in the 2nd half. Jan Kopic centred the ball to the 6-yard box and the goalkeeper Šiman kicked it behind himself – 1-0 for Viktoria. Pfeifer forced Šiman to the next save moments later when he executed a corner but he did not ad dany goal. On 59 minutes Jan Suchan increased the score when Preifer cooperated with Bakoš who passed the ball to Suchan. He finally scored to 2-0. 10 minutes later Michal Krmenčík kicked the ball from an 18-yard box and the score was 3-0. The fans could enjoy more goals later, too. Machek scored after a corner and on 79 minutes reduced the score to 2 goals only. At the end of the match Ševčík added the last goal of the match and the referee finished it.
