Viktoria Plzeň already know FORTUNA:LEAGUE schedule for the 2019/2020 season and at the time after a draw in Nyon they found out the name of their opponent for second qualifying round of UCL – it is Olympiacos.
Olympiacos is a Greek team settled in Piraeus, the city is located in the south from Athens in the Saronic Gulf. Piraeus is the fourth biggest city in Greece with over 175 thousand people. Olympiacos is called Thrylos (legend) or Erythrolefki (the red-and-whites). The team was established 94 years ago and plays their matches at Karaiskakis Stadium for 32,115 fans.
In the last season of Greek Superleague they finished at second place with 75 points (out of 30 matches) behind unbeaten PAOK. Not even amazing score 71-17 (with best offence in the league) was enough for Olympiacos to get higher, moreover, PAOK started the season with two minus points!
Olympiacos is historically the most successful team, they have gathered 44 titles so far. The last one was in 2017, which was their seventh consecutive title. They are the only team in the world that managed to became the champion in their country at least five times in a row. They won 6 titles without any loss, they never relegated and they also won the cup 27 times. There is no doubt about their top quality…

In case Viktoria go through Olympiacos and followingly edge out in the third or fourth UCL qualifying round, they would directly go to UEL group stage.
If Viktoria lose to Olympiacos, they would relegate to 3rd UEL qualifying round where they would be seeded. The list of opponents here is much wider and many of them have to undergo previous qualifying rounds. After that there would follow fourth UEL qualifying round, which is a direct fight for UEL group stage.
Today Viktoria got to know the match schedule for the new league season. The specific dates will always be available 2-3 weeks before the match itself, nevertheless, Pavel Vrba’s team already know who they are going to meet in every round. The team will play the first match against Olomouc at the home stadium on 12th or 13th July, the second match in Liberec will follow.
Viktoria will meet the only newcomer of the league České Budějovice at the weekend 20th to 23rd September at their stadium in the10th round. The next opponent is Sparta at Doosan Arena and Slavia will be hosted in the 14th round. Autumn part will finish about 20th December (home against Teplice), spring part will begin in the half of February 2020 in Opava, the regular season will finish in Olomouc at the end of April.
