Long-time goalkeeper Aleš Hruška is parting ways with Viktoria Plzeň, where his contract expires at the end of June and the two sides have not agreed on its extension. The owner of two championship titles is now looking for a new engagement.

Aleš Hruska joined Viktoria five years ago when long-time mainstay Matúš Kozáčik was injured. In his first season, he was instrumental in winning the championship title and in the upcoming one, he captured the Champions League from the number one position. In total, he played 123 games for Viktoria, in which he recorded 43 clean sheets. At the end of the season he also won his second league title.

"I remember how quickly we were able to agree on his arrival at a time when we were quickly looking for a replacement when Matúš Kozáček was injured. There was always a great cooperation with Aleš, he developed into a strong personality on the pitch and in the players´ cabinet, which always respected him and he was one of their representatives in most of the negotiations," says Adolf Šádek, the club´s CEO, about Aleš Hruška.

"We have not agreed on a contract extension now. Moreover, Aleš still has the desire to catch the first league, so our paths diverge after five years. I would like to thank him for everything he has done for the club and wish him the best of luck and success in both his football and personal life. I am sure that Aleš will have many more first league matches ahead of him, he definitely has the quality to do it," says Adolf Šádek, the club´s general manager, about the goalkeeper.

"Aleš has always been a huge professional who concentrates on every training session and match. It was a pleasure to work with him, whether as a fellow goalkeeper or later from a coaching perspective," adds current goalkeeping coach Matúš Kozáčik.

In the last championship season Aleš Hruška played in 6 league matches, he also played in all the preliminary rounds of the European Conference League, where he helped to eliminate TNS in the penalty shootout. His great performance in the double match against Larnaca in Cyprus, where he made great saves and helped the team to qualify for the Europa League group stage, will certainly remain in the fans´ memory.

Now Aleš Hruška says goodbye to Viktoria. Aleš, thank you!
