Shortly after the start of summer training, Viktoria Plzeň welcomes another new name. Twenty-four-year-old midfielder Cadu, who comes from Pardubice, will strengthen the squad of coach Michal Bílek. The player from Brazil has signed a three-year contract.

The player, whose full name is Carlos Eduardo Lopes Cruz, came to the Czech Republic more than two years ago. In the jersey of Pardubice, he first won the second league championship and helped the team with promotion to the top division, then with twenty-nine starts and seven goals he contributed to the successful seventh place in the inaugural first league season, and in the last season he was again one of the key players of the team.

The second best passer of the past FORTUNA:LIGA season is now a Victorian. "Cadu was one of the players we had selected together with the coaches and I am glad that we have now agreed with the player and Pardubice on his transfer to us. He has clearly demonstrated his qualities in the Czech top competition and has been the key part of the team. I wish him to do well in Viktoria as well," said Adolf Šádek, the general manager of Viktoria.

"He is a very interesting player who was also very productive last season. He can play on the edge of the midfield as well as on defence. I am glad to welcome him to our team," said head coach Michal Bílek.

"Everything is great here, I´ve already met some of the guys and I have to say that there is a great environment and atmosphere, which I like very much. I´m a bit tired, but I´m still happy that everything went well. I´m excited about my transfer and I look forward to upcoming days,“ said new player of the Czech champions.

This is the seventh summer signing for the red and blue team. In the previous days, the club signed returnees Václav Pilař and Filip Čihák, midfielder Kristi Qose, talented goalkeeper Martin Jedlička, striker Jan Kliment and the strong defender Mohamed Tijani.

Cadu, welcome!
