Midfielder Pavel Bucha is moving from Viktoria Plzen to the US MLS, where he will wear the FC Cincinnati jersey.

Twenty-five-year-old Pavel Bucha did not travel with Viktoria to Benidorm, Spain, for the training camp. Instead, he headed to Ohio, where he sealed his transfer to FC Cincinnati today.

"When Pavel Bucha came to us, we knew he had a lot of potential. With his gradual development, he has become an important player for our team and has contributed significantly to winning the championship and advancing to the Champions League, for example. Now we have an offer for him, which is also a great challenge in his life," says Viktoria´s sporting director Daniel Kolář.

"We would like to thank Pavel for his great years in our jersey and we all wish him the best in the American competition. MLS is experiencing a great football growth and it is an interesting engagement for him in all aspects. This example also clearly shows our path and vision," adds Daniel Kolář.

"First of all, I would like to thank everyone at the club for everything we have experienced together. I spent over five years in Viktorka, which I will never forget. And thanks also to the fans who have always supported me and playing in front of them has always been special for me. I will continue to keep my fingers crossed for the club from afar and keep a close eye on the results," says Pavel Bucha.

"Pavel´s move to the USA may come as a surprise to some soccer fans, but in our eyes, MLS is a competition with huge soccer and marketing potential, which will be enhanced by the 2026 World Cup. The ever-improving sports infrastructure, growing media interest, and above all, the ever-growing fan base make MLS one of the most promising soccer markets in the world," added Viktor Kolář from Sport Invest, the agency that represents the player.

Pavel Bucha joined Viktoria Plzeň in the summer of 2018 and has played a total of 121 league games in the red and blue jersey, scoring 22 goals. He added another 29 games and three goals in European competitions, 12 games in the domestic cup and was among the scorers three times. In the 2021/2022 season, he celebrated the championship title with Viktoria and subsequently played in the UEFA Champions League regular season group.

Pavel, thank you and good luck!
