Twenty-year-old Czech U21 international Christophe Kabongo has joined the summer training of Viktoria Plzeň and his transfer from Lommel in Belgium should be sealed in the coming days.
The 20-year-old offensive footballer has a very interesting football history. Four years ago, he left Sparta for Lommel, which belongs to the City Football Group owned by Manchester City, among others, and it is to the Belgian club that he has been drawing talent from all over the world. He then spent the last year and a half on loan in the Slovakian top flight at Podbrezova. His performances also earned him a nomination to the Czech national under-21 team, where he has a record of six games and four goals.
He has now joined Viktorka and his transfer to DOOSAN Arena should be sealed in the coming days. A four-year contract is ready for him. "Christophe is already training with the team and should also hit the ground running in Saturday´s preliminary match. Only the details of the transfer are being finalized," explains club spokesman Václav Hanzlík.
"He is a speed offensive player who is also very variable. We watched his performances in Slovakia and in the matches of the Czech national team and he impressed us a lot. We see a huge potential in him for the future, so we decided to bring him to our team. I believe that the transfer will be finalized soon," said Daniel Kolář, the club´s sports director.
