FC Viktoria Plzeň introduces its new head coach, Martin Hyský. He is joined by new members of the coaching staff. The 50-year-old coach took over the team today and will lead it for the first time in Saturday´s league match against Bohemians Praha 1905.
Martin Hyský has had a rich playing career, after which he embarked on a coaching career. For example, he led the reserve teams of Slavia and Vlašim, and most recently enjoyed success in Karviná. He is now becoming the head coach of Viktoria Plzeň, signing a three-year contract at the Doosan Arena.
"Martin has a proven track record of success and is a modern and very ambitious coach. These attributes perfectly reflect our club´s values and approach. Hiring him was therefore a priority for us, and I am delighted that we have managed to get him on board," said Adolf Šádek, chairman of the board and CEO of the club.
"At the same time, we tried to accommodate the coach as much as possible and supported him in putting together his own team, which is undergoing several changes," added Adolf Šádek.
Along with Martin Hyský, new assistant Radim Grussmann, goalkeeper coach Václav Winter, and fitness coaches Petr Hejný and Tomáš Pupkay are also joining Viktoria. Marek Bakoš (assistant), Matúš Kozáčik (goalkeeping coach), Zdeněk Bečka (video analyst), and Martin Kastner (fitness coach) will remain part of the coaching staff. On the other hand, Petr Bolek and Juraj Kubišta will no longer be working with the first team, as they are moving to the club academy, where they will be a great asset to the development of young talent.
"The engagement at Viktoria is a huge challenge for me. It´s another step in my career. I am full of energy and determination to be successful both at home and on the European scene," said Martin Hyský, who will lead his first joint training session today and make his debut on the Viktoria bench in Saturday´s league match.
"Of course, everything happened very quickly, so now we will focus all our attention on Saturday´s match. Viktoria has very talented players, and our task is to get the best out of the team and prepare them for the upcoming match, in which we want to succeed!" added the coach, who is also looking forward to the European matches. "This will be my European debut as a coach. As I said, I´m really looking forward to it, and I believe that the Viktoria fans will be a great support to us on this journey. But now our attention is focused solely on the first match," concluded Martin Hyský.
WE WILL OFFER FANS THE FIRST INTERVIEW WITH MARTIN HYSKÝ THIS AFTERNOON ON THE CLUB´S CHANNELS.
