Midfielder Matěj Valenta has extended his contract with Viktoria Plzeň and will continue to wear the red-and-blue jersey through 2029.
Matěj Valenta joined Doosan Arena two years ago. Since then, he has played 44 league matches for Viktoria, scoring two goals and recording four assists. He has also made ten appearances in European cup competitions. He has now committed his future to the club through 2029.
“I feel great at Viktoria, so extending my contract is a logical step. I still have a big dream of achieving great success with the club, and I’ll do my best to contribute to that. I also want to thank the club for their trust, because they stood by me during my first serious injury in my career, and I want to repay that,” said the 26-year-old midfielder after signing the new contract.
“Matěj was slowed down by an injury after joining the club, but we managed to get through that period together, and we see him as a quality player who will continue to play an important role for us in the future. So we agreed on the contract extension very quickly,” added the club’s sporting director, Martin Vozábal.
