Just before Saturday’s departure for the training camp in Westendorf, Viktoria Plzeň have announced another new signing. Twenty-three-year-old centre-back Filip Prebsl joins the club from Karviná and today signed a four-year contract at the Doosan Arena.
Despite still being only 23 years old, Filip Prebsl has already built an impressive career. A product of Slavia Prague’s academy, he has also played for Vlašim, Slovan Liberec, Polish side Górnik Zabrze, Mladá Boleslav and, most recently, Karviná. He now makes the move from Silesia to Viktoria Plzeň, where he has signed a contract that will keep him at the club for at least the next four seasons.
“It’s no secret that we were very interested in signing Filip in the past. We’re delighted that everything has now been finalised and that we can welcome him to our team. He is a quality centre-back who is also comfortable playing in midfield. We see great potential in him and believe he can take another big step forward with us,” said Viktoria Plzeň sporting director Martin Vozábal.
“I’m really happy that everything has been sorted out and that I’ll be able to join the team for the entire training camp. That’s always important for a player. I’m looking forward to meeting my new teammates, many of whom I already know very well,” said Filip Prebsl. “Viktoria have the highest ambitions, and that’s something I really like. I’m happy to be here and I can’t wait for the new season to begin,” he added.
Welcome to Viktoria, Filip!
