At the end of the pre-season programme for 2018/2019 Viktoria Plzeň lost the first mach. In the last friendly match they lost to Dynamo Kiev 0-2, both goals were scored in the last 30 minutes.

Right at the beginning, during the first two minutes, Viktorians created offensive pressure that did not finish by a goal. After a careful start Aleš Čermák had an effort on goal and Dynamo´s defensive line made a foul on the edge of the penalty area. Čermák missed the goal as well as Procházka´s corner attempt moments later. Viktorians had a promising chance when Jan Kopic run alone on the left side and tried to surprise goalkeeper Boiko. He saved his good attempt on the corner. Moments later Roman Procházka aimed to shot on goal on the other side but his header missed the target. Kiev also had a promising chance at the end of the 1st half when Buyalsky sent a sharp shot on Kozáčik who was ready.

Aleš Hruška and Tomáš Hořava substituted Kozáčik and Procházka for the 2nd half. 5 minutes later Kopic had an effort on goal but this time the defenders blocked him. Kiev got in leading when in 61st minute Vitaliy Buialskyi kicked a low shot on goal – 1-0. Kalytvyntsev could increase Kiev´s leading soon after that when being in the fast break but Hruška saved his shot. During the 2nd half Viktorians´ line-up changed a lot, Ekpai, Řezníček, Hájek, Havel, Kovařík, Zeman and Chorý came on the pitch. Milan Havel quickly had a big chance on goal but his attempt flew far above the gate. On the other side Besedin touched the second goal but a centre pass was too hard to process. However, Kiev added the second goal later when Yevhenii Smyrnyi scored by a left leg.

Plzeň lost the last friendly match with Dynamo Kiev 0-2.

"We knew our opponent would be of high quality, however, we hoped we could make more chances. Moreover we could stop the conceded goals," he says after the match. In general he was satisfied with the whole pre-season programme. "It came up to our expectations. We had great conditions here and I hope we are ready for the league," he finished his evaluation.
