He was satisfied with the result and advancement, with the players rotation and he praised the fans greatly. We bring you the post-game interview with the Viktoria head coach Miroslav Koubek.

We defeated Gzira 6-0 aggregate in the double match. Are you satisfied?

Without a doubt. We were the favorite and we confirmed that role. In addition, we contributed both to the club coefficient and the Czech coefficient, so we can be satisfied.

Did you emphasize these aspects to the players before the match?

Yes, I specifically stressed this out. We wanted to win because of the coefficient improvement.

You changed the starting line-up. Some players could get some rest, the others got game practice. Is this another reason to be happy?

The main reason for the line-up change was to distribute the game time and workload to more players. If you make 7 changes after the league match against Dynamo, it’s self-evident. Some of the players haven’t played a game for three weeks. You could see that in the first half, I’m not gonna lie. Some players needed a while to look around and find their spot in the roster. But I’m glad we managed to win the match, despite this risky move.

Sampson Dweh entered the pitch in the second half, but not in his regular position. Is this an interesting line-up alternative for you?

We know he’s capable of that, he played at this position before, in Vyškov for example. He replaced Lukáš Kalvach and managed well, with no mistakes.

Jan Paluska made his debut in the European Cups right after his first league match.

I’m happy for him and for his first game in Europe. Congratulations to him, he played well and he confirmed just what we expected from him.

Our fans were really loud, they were the only ones cheering during the whole game. Did you enjoy it?

We have to respect and value the people that go with us on the road and cheer for us. I thank them for that. We could hear them, it felt good. I thank them for supporting and helping the team.

We prepared a challenge for Sunday, we want to see 10,000 Viktorians in the Doosan Arena again. Do you think it’s possible, three times in a row?

Well, if they came before, there’s no reason for them not to come again now (he laughs). But seriously, I believe they will come and that we will get the support of the crowded stadium. An important and tough game against Olomouc awaits us. The travelling is difficult, so we have the prepare the best way we can. And the support of the fans will definitely help us in that.
