36-years-old captain Roman Hubník will leave Viktoria Plzeň after seven years. When this season ends, he will join his former club Sigma Olomouc on a new two-year contract. Roman, thank you for everything! You will forever be a part of the club´s history.

Roman Hubník signed his first contract with Viktoria Plzeň in September 2013 after coming back to the Czech Republic from German Bundesliga. At first he signed just a one-year contract, but in the end he spent seven years in the club ranks (except a short-term loan to Olomouc). He was a part of a team that was winning league titles and competing in Europe in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.

Now the captain will say his goodbye. And we can´t reply anything else, than: "Thanks, captain!"

"Roman has been one of the most important parts of our teams in recent years, without a doubt. With a captain armband he was a leader on the pitch and in the dressing room. We have such a great and fair relationship. I would like to thank him for everything he has done for the club, the way he represented us and helped us build our success," said general manager Adolf Šádek.

"Unfortunately the time cannot be stopped and our team is going through a generation change. So we have a deal with Roman that after the 19-20 season, he will return to Olomouc, where he grew up. I wish him nothing but the best," added Šádek with information that the club will say his farewell to Roman Hubník during the last home match of this season against Liberec.

"I spent many unforgettable years in Viktoria. I proudly wore the captain armband and the jersey and I will still support this club. I will also be hapy to come back here, always. Now we know that it´s a good time for me to come back home, where I will be able to continue my career and spend more time with my family. I look forward to the last match and I know we will enjoy it together with the fans and hopefully make a winning end of the season," said Roman Hubník.

He made his debut for Viktoria on 13th of September 2013 against Slovan Liberec, when he substituted injured Lukáš Hejda. He reached three league titles with Viktoria Plzeň (2015, 2016 and 2018), he also won the Czech Supercup at the year of 2015.

One of his three league goals in Viktoria´s colors was scored during the title-winning match against Jihlava in 2014-2015 season.

He appeared in 172 competitive matches for Viktoria Plzeň. 122 in the Czech league, 17 in UEFA Champions League, 18 in UEFA Europa League, 14 in Czech Cup and one match in Czech Supercup.

Thank you, skipper!
