The Pilsen club legend will take up the position of Viktoria Plzeň´s sporting director. Daniel Kolář will take over the management of the club´s sports department.

As a player, he won five championship titles and played three times in the Champions League for Viktoria with the famous "26" on his back. After the end of his professional playing career, he continued to work in Pilsen, taking the position of youth sports manager. Now "Kolda" moves on to his next challenge and becomes the new sporting director.

"Daniel Kolář got involved in the club two years ago when he joined as a youth sports manager and had the opportunity to try out a number of things, get to know in detail the running of the whole club and get actively involved in a number of processes. His appointment to the vacant position of Sports Director is therefore a natural and logical choice for us. Of course, I wish Dan every success and I look forward to our mutual cooperation," said Adolf Šádek, the club´s CEO.

"It is an honour for me that the club gives me this trust and I appreciate it very much. It is of course a new experience for me and I intend to do my best to be of help to the club and to use all my experience to its advantage. The best period of my playing career is connected with Viktoria and I am glad that I can continue to contribute to the further development and growth of the club," said Daniel Kolář.

"My task is to be a liaison between the owner of the club and the coaches, thus providing the necessary service for them. The same applies to the players, where I will also ensure communication with their representatives and address their current needs so that they can concentrate 100% on their sports training and meeting our sporting goals. I will also be responsible for monitoring players on loan or selected players who might be of interest to us. Last but not least, I will also oversee the youth department, where I want to continue connecting all youth selections with the A team," added Daniel Kolář.
