Five players from Viktoria Plzeň were invited to the national team meetings of their countries. Jindřich Staněk will go to fight with the Czech national team for the Euro, as well as Erik Jirka with Slovakia. Sampson Dweh will fight with Liberia´s national team to qualify for the African Nations Cup, and the pair of Honza Paluska and Pavel Hašek will travel to Belgium for the national 19s tournament.

The Czech national team and Jindra Stanek will play an important duel in the qualification for the European Championship 2024. The opponent will be Albania, which is in second place in Group E behind the Czech team, on Thursday 7 September at the Fortuna Arena in Prague. So we are waiting for a match for the proverbial six points. After that, the Czech team will play a friendly match against Hungary in Budapest.

The Slovak team with Erik Jirka will face a much tougher opponent. On Friday 8 September, the Slovaks will welcome the Portuguese team led by Cristiano Ronaldo to Bratislava. In Group J, it will also be a battle for first place. At the moment, the Portuguese hold it.  The Slovaks will then challenge Liechtenstein on Monday 11 September at the same venue.

Nothing is going to be easy for Sampson Dweh, who with Liberia will challenge Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday, September 9. Morocco finished fourth at the last World Cup, sensationally knocking out Spain and Portugal. Meanwhile, South Africa leads the Afcon K qualifying group, with Morocco second and Liberia last.

Honza Paluska and Pavel Hašek were nominated for the U19 national team. They will travel to Belgium, where they will play two matches in the mini-tournament. The first opponent of the 19s will be Scotland on 9 September, three days later they will face Belgium at home.
