Viktoria Plzeň´s latest summer signing is 23-year-old midfielder Sebastian Boháč, who is joining from Karviná. He signed a three-year contract at Doosan Arena.
The talented midfielder came up through the Baník Ostrava youth academy, making his debut in the Czech top flight four years ago while playing for that club. And it was in a match against Viktoria. His career continued in Karviná, where he led the team to victory in the Mol Cup as captain. In total, he has 69 league appearances and two goals to his credit. He is now transferring to Doosan Arena, where he has signed a three-year contract.
“Sebastian Boháč is a very talented and versatile midfielder who is also capable of playing in defense. We have excellent references for him, and our coach, Martin Hyský, knows him well, too. We’re glad we were able to finalize everything before leaving for the training camp in Westendorf,” said Martin Vozábal, Viktoria’s sporting director, about Boháč.
“I’ve always dreamed of something like this. I’m joining a big club with the highest ambitions, one that regularly competes in European cups. It’s great motivation for me; I’ll want to improve every day and show what I’m capable of,” said Sebastian Boháč after signing the contract.
He also reflected on his league debut, which took place at Doosan Arena against Viktoria. “It’s still fresh in my mind; I remember that game very well. I was incredibly nervous—after all, it was my first league game. And Viktoria was celebrating the title with their fans. Of course, I wouldn’t mind at all if I could experience that here in the opposite role. The fans here are great; I’m looking forward to seeing them. And that gives me even more motivation,” smiled Sebastian Boháč.
Sebastian, welcome to Viktoria!
