The home clash against Zlín ended in a 3–2 victory for Viktoria. Two goals from Prince Adu and a converted penalty by Christophe Kabongo secured Viktoria’s first league win of the season.
The sunny Saturday match was kicked off by the visitors from Zlín. Viktoria struck for the first time as early as the 6th minute. Doski won the ball and found Ladra, who played a long pass into the path of Adu. He beat his defender in a one-on-one situation and, with a bit of luck, managed to get the ball past Dostál and into the net. At the other end, Šmiga threatened in the 13th minute, but Dweh and Spáčil managed to catch up with him and eventually cleared the danger. Wiegele was then called into action following a well-worked Zlín set piece, which resulted in another corner. The visitors made the second opportunity count. After a loose ball, a cross came in from the flank, missed everyone and found its way inside the post of Wiegele’s goal. Petruta was credited with the equaliser. Viktoria then looked for a way through the Zlín defence, with the visitors defending responsibly in a deep block. They also threatened in the 31st minute but failed to hit the target. Four minutes later, Plzeň had two attempts in quick succession. Doski was the first to shoot, but Dostál saved his effort. Červ collected the rebound but was unable to find the target either. In the 41st minute, Viktoria were awarded a penalty. Červ cleverly pushed the ball into the box, the defender failed to track his movement and brought him down. Kabongo stepped up and calmly sent Dostál the wrong way. There were no further goals before the break, meaning Viktoria headed into the dressing room with a one-goal lead.
In the 50th minute, Memić dribbled his way into a shooting position on the edge of the box but was unable to hit the target. Plzeň struck again in the 56th minute. Ladra delivered a cross into the penalty area and Prince Adu found the net for the second time in the match. Two minutes later, Dweh played a long ball forward before Ladra found Souaré with a low cross, but his effort narrowly missed Dostál’s goal. In the 70th minute, Ladra tried his luck from distance and forced Dostál into a fine save. A minute later, Sampson Dweh joined the attack, beating a defender with several clever moves before getting a shot away, but he failed to find the target. Memić was also lively, with Ladra sending him down the flank on several occasions. These attacks allowed Viktoria to build pressure and win several corners. In the 77th minute, Hrošovský got a shot away and Dostál had to make another save. The rebound fell into a dangerous area, but the Zlín defence cleared the ball before Adu could reach it, with Viktoria earning another corner. In the 83rd minute, a misunderstanding in the Plzeň defence allowed Zlín to take advantage. Appiah found the net to reduce the deficit to just one goal. The closing stages were hectic, but Viktoria held on to their one-goal lead and celebrated their first win of the season.
