Plzeň returned to league action after the international break with a home clash against Teplice. A goalless first half was followed by a much livelier second period full of chances and emotion. Viktoria managed to take the lead, but the visitors always found a response, and the match ultimately ended in a draw.
The match after the international break was kicked off by the home side. As early as the 2nd minute, the visitors got their first chance, but the move was stopped for offside. In the 7th minute, a nice combination followed – Višinský made space on the wing, delivered a cross into the box, and Toure’s effort was saved by the goalkeeper. Červ got to the rebound, but his attempt narrowly missed the target. Two minutes later, Krčík blocked a shot. In the 15th minute, Toure found himself in another shooting position, but the Teplice goalkeeper was once again ready. Plzeň gradually took control and tried to break down the opposition’s defence, which continued to hold firm. The number of physical duels also increased. In the 23rd minute, Ladra tested the goalkeeper from a free kick, but without success. Teplice mainly threatened from counter-attacks, but Plzeň’s defence dealt with them well. In the 33rd minute, Červ tried his luck from outside the box, but his shot went just wide. No major chances followed, and the teams went into the break with the score goalless.
The visitors started the second half more actively. After a few minutes, however, Červ was forced off and replaced by Panoš. In the 53rd minute, Panoš produced a brilliant individual effort, dribbling past several defenders, but his shot narrowly missed the target. Four minutes later, Hrošovský tried from a similar position, but he was also off target. In the 61st minute, Ladra took a free kick from a promising position, but his effort struck the crossbar. Teplice continued to withstand Plzeň’s pressure. In the 79th minute, Souaré attempted to surprise the goalkeeper with a shot from halfway, but the ball went over. Shortly after, following a move down the wing led by Višinský, Plzeň won a penalty after he was fouled. Dávid Krčík stepped up and confidently converted the penalty with a Panenka-style finish. However, the home side’s joy did not last long, as Teplice equalised shortly after. In stoppage time, Adam Kadlec scored his first goal, but once again the visitors responded immediately, setting the final score.
