The Plzeň footballers handled the home match dedicated to schools and, in front of a great atmosphere and packed stands, defeated Bohemians. In the first half, Mohamed Toure opened the scoring with his first goal in the red and blue shirt, and after the break Dávid Krčík secured Viktoria’s win from the penalty spot.
The home side from Plzeň started the schools match actively. In the very first minute they twice tried to send the ball behind the opponent’s defence, but neither attempt created a major chance. Several long throw-ins from Sampson Dweh reached the finishing area, but the visiting defence managed to clear the ball off the goal line. In the 8th minute Lawal got to a shot, though it lacked the power to trouble the goalkeeper. During the attempt he was injured and had to be substituted. Mohamed Toure came on in his place, collecting his first minutes on the home pitch. In the 22nd minute Višinský broke down the wing and fired a powerful shot. Shortly afterwards Červ also tried his luck from distance, but his effort was deflected for a corner. At the other end Wiegele produced a brilliant save. Dweh had headed the ball back inaccurately and the visitors immediately struck first-time, but the Plzeň goalkeeper reacted superbly. In the 33rd minute a beautiful combination between Souaré and Červ followed. The former finished the move, the goalkeeper parried his shot, but Mohamed Toure reacted quickest and tapped the ball into the net, scoring his first goal in the red-and-blue shirt. Shortly before the break Višinský had another big chance, but this time he could not convert. The first half ended with Viktoria leading by one goal.
The second half began more cautiously. In the 50th minute Souaré got a shot away, but the move had been preceded by an offside. Bohemians then began to play more aggressively, which the referee punished several times with yellow cards. In the 53rd minute Toure found himself in another chance after a beautiful pass from Souaré, but his attempt was deflected just wide. From the resulting corner Krčík headed the ball, but only into the goalkeeper’s gloves. In the 57th minute the visitors thought they had equalised, but the goal was ruled out for offside. The active Toure later had a header that narrowly missed the target. A big chance also came in the 66th minute when Panoš, shortly after coming on, ran through one-on-one with the goalkeeper but failed to beat him. In the 75th minute, after a poor defensive header from the visitors, Toure got to the ball. He elegantly lifted it over the goalkeeper and tried to follow up, but was fouled in the process. The referee pointed to the penalty spot. Krčík stepped up and confidently converted the penalty. Near the end of the match Panoš attempted a curling effort, but missed the target. Nothing significant happened afterwards and Viktoria secured a 2–0 home victory.
