The Viktorians Under-19s entered the Champions League, but the youth one, on Wednesday. In their first match, they were no match for their opponents Barcelona, losing 0-3 on their soil.

The first big chance came from Plzeň. The new signing - Godwin Dabani - played with the home defence on the left side, but shot straight into the arms of Andrea Astralaga. Barcelona then showed a nice action along the route of Angel Alarcon and the finishing Victor Barberá, but his shot into the open net was well blocked by stopper Jan Paluska.

Ilias Akomach showed some neat action on the other side, and Victor Baier shone against him as he did several times in the match. However, Barbera´s close-range shot was short, and FCB went ahead in the 22nd minute. The Catalan side were the better team for the rest of the half, and had several more interesting chances, but the result stood by a single goal.

The Blaugranas had a good start to the second half, Akomach broke down the FCVP defence and increased the score to 2-0. The Victorians could have reduced almost immediately, but Jakub Kule´s cross was missed ideally by Robert Aubrecht in a good position. Baier then dealt with Albi´s finish at the front post.

After an hour of play, the Catalans pulled away to a three-goal difference, a knock on a couple of touches finished by Angel Alarcon. With this result, the UEFA Youth League first round match finally ended, with the Viktorians taking home a 0-3 defeat from Barcelona.
