Talented goalkeeper Viktor Baier ended his loan spell in Austria prematurely due to injury. At the same time, he signed a new contract with Viktoria Plzeň until 2029.
Twenty-one-year-old Viktor Baier left at the beginning of this season on loan to Austrian club FC Blau-Weiß Linz. Unfortunately, in mid-January, he was injured at a training camp in Turkey and had to undergo surgery. For this reason, his loan has now been terminated prematurely.
"Viktor returned to Plzeň immediately after his injury, where he underwent surgery, and the entire rehabilitation process will take place under our supervision. An agreement has now been reached to terminate his engagement in Austria," confirmed the club´s sporting director, Martin Vozábal.
At the same time, the goalkeeper has signed a new contract with Viktoria until 2029. "Our priority is to give Viktor enough time for quality rehabilitation and to prepare him 100% for his return to the pitch. We are well aware of his qualities and potential, so the new contract is a logical step," said Martin Vozábal.
"I am happy and appreciate the trust the club has placed in me. I will now do my best to get back in shape after my injury and be able to help on the pitch," added Viktor Baier.
