The Viktorians played their final league match of the season at Prague’s Eden, where they were defeated by Slavia. The second half brought several promising attacking moments as well as debut appearances for youngsters from the Viktoria academy.
The visitors kicked off the final match of the season. Dominik Ťapaj recorded his first minutes in the red and blue shirt. Slavia took the lead early on after a corner kick, when Chaloupek scored with a header. Moments later, another attack from the home side followed and in the 6th minute Suleiman finished into an empty net. At the end of the 10th minute, Valenta fired from outside the box, but Markovič stayed alert and pushed the shot away. First, Toure did well to win the ball back, but his effort was blocked. Shortly after, he regained possession again for Hrošovský, whose attempt in the 22nd minute went off target. Viktoria tried to threaten Slavia, but the home side remained in control of the match. In the 37th minute, the referee went to review an uncalled foul on VAR and eventually awarded a penalty. Chytil stepped up and converted. Slavia had another huge chance in first-half stoppage time, but fortunately the ball bounced back into Ťapaj’s hands. That was the end of the first half, with Viktoria heading into the dressing room trailing.
Right at the start of the second half, Sojka lined up for a dangerous free kick and struck the crossbar, with Markovič unable to reach it. Viktoria enjoyed a strong spell in the opposition half, while Slavia barely crossed the halfway line until the 59th minute. Toure quickly tested substitute goalkeeper Kolář, but he stayed alert in the 61st minute. One of the academy youngsters, Jakub Chalupa, also came onto the pitch and made his debut for Viktoria’s first team. In the 71st minute, Toure dribbled his way into a shooting position, but Kolář stretched well to push the ball away for a corner. Youngsters Paidar and Buchner also entered the match and made their first appearances in the top flight. Nothing more happened before the final whistle, and Viktoria left Prague with a defeat.
